What is an Ultravit Health Check?

Our packages are tailored to men and women, and cover a full range of health markers, checking everything from major organ function, to your risk of heart disease and diabetes.

The tests are carried out at our fantastic outpatient clinic at 25 Harley Street, and you will receive a comprehensive report from a GP outlining your results and recommendations.

What are you being tested for?

Our Ultravit Health Checks look at everything from your risk of heart disease and diabetes to how your major organs are functioning.

They also include vital tests for energy, like thyroid function, iron and essential vitamins and minerals, and we take a look at your hormone balance to make sure your levels are where they should be for your stage of life.

These tests are suitable for anyone over the age of 16, and they will help you to understand your own personal risk factors which you can monitor over time and with advice from a qualified doctor to stay on top of your health.

Blood count

A Full Blood Count (FBC) test will check the number and size of your blood cells. This can help to diagnose or rule out a number of complications such as anaemia and infection.

Inflammation

An ESR blood test looks at your red blood cells to test for any inflammation. It is used to diagnose conditions associated with inflammation such as Chrohn’s Disease, arthritis, endocarditis, and giant cell arteritis.

Thyroid function

A TSH test along with an FT4 test will determine how well your thyroid is working, and check for hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) or hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid).

Iron levels

An iron blood test will check the levels of iron in your blood.

Ferritin is the protein in your blood that stores iron. A ferritin test also looks at the amount of iron your body stores.

Vitamin D levels

A vitamin D test is used to test for low levels of vitamin D within your blood. If you do have low levels of vitamin D, you will be able to take supplements to prevent this from causing any related complications.

Low vitamin D can cause bone disorders or problems with absorbing calcium.

Kidney function

A urea and electrolytes blood test is used to detect any abnormalities with your kidney function.

A uric acid blood test checks the levels of uric acid in your blood. Low uric acid is associated with liver or kidney disease, while high levels are associated with gout.

Liver function

Liver Function Tests look at the levels of proteins, liver enzymes and bilirubin in your blood to determine the health of your liver.

Muscle disorders

A CK blood test will look at the amount of creatine kinase in your blood. High levels of creatine kinase may indicate muscle, heart or brain damage or degeneration.

Tissue damage

A lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) test looks for levels of LDH. High levels of LDH indicates tissue damage.

Calcium levels

A calcium test will look at the levels of calcium in your blood. Too much or too little calcium is associated with a number of disorders including bone disease, thyroid disease and kidney disease.

Phosphate levels

Phosphates are used by your body in energy production, bone growth and nerve and muscle function.

A phosphate test will check your phosphate levels, and can be used to diagnose digestive system conditions related to the absorption of phosphate, calcium and magnesium.

Diabetes

A glucose test looks at the glucose levels in your blood to assess your risk of diabetes.

Cholesterol

This test measure the levels of cholesterol in your blood. It can help determine your risk of developing blocked arteries, and your risk of coronary heart disease.

Hormone balance

Oestradiol and LH blood tests look at your hormone balance.

FSH tests are used to diagnose and evaluate menopause in women.

Testosterone tests in men will check testosterone levels to rule out any related conditions.
