Management Team

Our management team, led by Chief Executive Andrew Barker, are all healthcare experts and pride themselves on delivering excellent care for our staff and patients.

The team are responsible for the day to day running of the hospital and developing plans for its future expansion. Andrew is supported by key heads of department, each with a specific brief to ensure that Phoenix Hospital Group delivers exceptional care.

Andrew started his career in the City in Mergers and Acquisitions and listed company corporate services before moving into healthcare management. Andrew then spent 11 years at the London Clinic, where he was responsible for operational management, development projects, governance and quality, strategic partnerships and the development of key stakeholder relations including the introduction of a number of innovations regarding Consultant engagement.

Andrew joined Phoenix Hospital Group in 2013, initially on a consultancy basis to advise on strategy and latterly was appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer. Andrew has been responsible for the transition of Phoenix into a thriving multi-site hospital group.

Mr McIndoe is one of the foremost UK consultants working in the field of Gynaecological Oncology today. A New Zealand native, Mr McIndoe qualified in 1980, after which time he moved to the UK. He was Lead Clinician for Gynaecological Oncology at the Hammersmith Hospital for many years, and Chief of Service for Gynaecology.

Mr McIndoe will work with the board and management team at Phoenix to champion excellence and ensure we maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients and consultants. Mr McIndoe will provide clinical leadership and ensure the interests of consultants are reflected as Phoenix grows and evolves.

Sue was previously the Marketing and Business Development Director at Leightons Opticians and Hearing Care, a large provider of optometry and hearing services. Further to this, Sue was also previously Group Marketing Director at Theo Paphitis Retail Group.

With Sue’s previous roles, she has a wealth of experience across digital marketing, business to business and direct to consumer marketing. Sue is responsible for all of our sales and marketing activities, brand management, business development and our bookings and appointment teams.

Elizabeth leads on all clinical governance matters within the Phoenix Hospital Group including liaison with the Care Quality Commission, risk, safety and audit and ensuring we embed a safety and learning culture in all that we do.

Natasha has 6 years industry experience in healthcare, starting her career within the Spire Healthcare group. She was part of the senior management team who successfully led a hospital from a CQC rating of Requires Improvement to Good, receiving Outstanding for Caring. She was instrumental in the development and roll-out of inter-departmental working groups implementing new governance to support patient safety and commercial growth, as well as creating KPIs to manage performance against these. She was also the lead for commercial development implementing a number of new services, successfully over 6 years.

Natasha is responsible for the day-to-day running of the hospital. Her priority is patient safety, and focus is of the commercial development and service offering; supporting both patients and consultants.

Marcus is responsible for all elements of our operational delivery in London at the Weymouth Street Hospital and our Harley Street campus. Marcus has a strong track record in senior leadership roles in London hospitals most latterly as Chief Executive of Harley Street Specialist Hospital. Prior to this, Marcus worked at a senior level across a number of leading hospitals.

Staff Training & Professional Development

All clinical staff are professionally registered and undertake regular training, including basic and advanced life support, infection control, health and safety and customer care. In addition, staff undertake numerous post-graduate educational courses to ensure that patients benefit from the latest advances in clinical care.
