Phoenix Hospital Group is a dynamic, fast growing independent hospital group which currently operates two hospitals in central London and Essex and two Harley Street outpatient and diagnostic centers. Base and Key working relationships | Office based (but will be required to visit all operational sites – Weymouth Street Hospital, 9 and 25 Harley Street, Phoenix Hospital Chelmsford, One Hatfield Hospital and One Ashford Hospital.)
The Chief Pharmacist reports to the Board through membership of Medicines Optimisation Committee. The post-holder will liaise with the Clinical Pharmacists, Hospital Directors and Directors of Clinical Services to support the operational delivery of services across all sites. Other key relationships include liaison with the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Quality, and Group Level Governance Lead and chair of the Medicines Optimisation Committee |

Post Summary
The Chief Pharmacist has responsibility for the management and the strategic development of medicines management and medicines optimisation across the Phoenix Hospital Group. As the most senior Pharmacist within the Group, the post holder is responsible for the safe delivery of a comprehensive, optimised, high quality pharmaceutical service to patients and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the expert voice on pharmacy matters to the Executive Board
- Lead on medicines related Clinical Governance issues
- Ensure regulatory standards and legislation compliance
- Provide clinical and professional leadership
- Monitor financial and clinical risk issues
- Audit all aspects of pharmacy service against agreed standards
- Provide professional leadership for pharmacy staff
- Attend Medicines Optimisation Committee
- Undertake the role of Medicines Safety Officer
- Ensure compliance with legislative frameworks
- Lead on procurement of drugs and management of contracts
Requirements:
- Professional leadership experience in pharmacy services
- Expertise in medicines management and optimisation
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards and legislation
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to patient-focused care and service excellence
