Our Well Woman Health Check screens for a wide variety of factors specific to women’s health. These include:
GYNAECOLOGY CHECK – An opportunity for you to discuss specific female health issues, such as menstrual problems, fertility, pelvic pain, menopause or sexual health with a female doctor. A test for ovarian cancer is included as part of this.
BREAST CHECK – Your doctor will check your breasts while also teaching you how to be more breast-aware.
ANAEMIA CHECK – You will be tested for signs of anaemia (cause of fatigue) and your ability to fight infection, so you can have the energy to live life to the full.
DIABETES CHECK – You will be checked for early signs of diabetes and advised on any recommended nutrition and lifestyle changes.
BONE HEALTH CHECK – Your calcium levels will be tested to analyse the health of your bones and teeth.
HEART CHECK – Your cholesterol level and your risk of developing heart disease will be monitored.
THYROID CHECK – Identifying whether you have an under-active thyroid (hypothyroidism) or an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) will allow it to be treated early.
VITAMIN CHECK – Identifies any potential deficiencies so they can be rectified.
LIVER & KIDNEY CHECK – To assess their function and detect signs of any potentially underlying diseases.
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK – By assessing whether you have high or low blood pressure, we can ensure you are within the correct range.

Full blood count – Gives a good indication of your overall health. Can detect signs of inflammation or infection, iron or B12 anaemia and clotting disorders.
Urinalysis – Checks for signs of urine infection.
Liver function – Checks how well the liver is functioning and tells us whether there is any inflammation or damage to the inside of the liver.
HbA1c – Screens for diabetes.
C-reactive protein – Checks for inflammation or infection in your body.
Urea and Electrolyes – Tests how well the kidneys are filtering the blood plus the overall balance of electrolytes and minerals in the body.
Thyroid Function tests – Checks for thyroid disorders including underactive thyroid and overactive thyroid.
Lipid profile – Analyses your cholesterol levels and signs of heart disease.
Calcium – Measures your calcium levels as it’s important for healthy bones and teeth.
Uric acid – Checks for gout and kidney stones.
Glucose – Checks for Type II Diabetes.
Iron – Checks for conditions like anaemia and iron overload.
Ferritin – Checks for iron deficiency and therefore anaemia, inflammatory conditions or liver disease.
Vitamin D – Checks for any bone disorders.

When your results are ready, your consultant will go through them with you to ensure you fully understand what they mean. They’ll also explain any next steps if needed.

Our tailored blood and urine tests not only provide you with an indication of your overall health but also check for hormone imbalances, early signs of ovarian cancer, Vitamin D deficiency, causes of fatigue, diabetes and your overall risk of heart disease.
You’ll start by having an in-depth consultation with a female health screening doctor, followed by an appointment with a nurse.
After this appointment, you’ll then receive a detailed report, written by your health screening doctor. This will explain your test results in more detail and provide you with a complete understanding of your health, allowing you to address any health issues before they become a problem. If any serious medical issues are found, your health screening doctor will make sure that you are quickly referred to a specialist.
The cost of our Well Women Health Check starts at £495. However, the test may not be suitable for younger women, so our doctor will advise you on whether this is the right test for you based on your individual circumstances.

Our Well Woman Health Check is for any woman looking to take charge of their health and be proactive in how they care for their body. You can also undergo our Well Woman Health Check if you’re concerned about your family history of certain health conditions or other risk factors.
Some of the tests in our Well Woman Health Checks aren’t suitable for younger women. Your doctor will be able to confirm which tests are right for you based on your age and specific needs.
Generally, you are recommended to have a Well Woman Health Check after you turn 40, but they can be carried out before this if required.
While the examination you receive may need to be adjusted to suit your needs, they can still prove beneficial for your overall health – even at a younger age.
