Mr Tan Arulampalam

Mr Tan Arulampalam qualified as a doctor in 1992 from St Bartholomew’s Hospital (University of London). He is an award-winning consultant general surgeon who has performed over 500 laparoscopic colorectal resections, as well as a range of advanced laparoscopic biliary, GI, emergency and hernia surgeries. 

Mr Philip Woodland

Mr Philip Woodland received a PhD from Queen Mary University of London for his research into gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and is a recognised expert in the field. In clinical practice, Dr Woodland diagnoses and treats GORD and Barrett’s oesophagus, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal cancers and more. He is also an advanced endoscopist.

Reflux service

Acid reflux occurs due to indigestion and other gastrointestinal problems. We can diagnose the underlying cause and help patients manage symptoms.

IBS service

Our gastroenterologists can diagnose and treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome, effectively with different methods, from dietary changes to prescription medications.

Rectal bleeding service

Our gastroenterologists are specialists in colorectal diagnosis and treatment, including surgery.

During the initial consultation, a doctor will ask about a patient’s symptoms, plan diagnostic tests and start to develop a treatment plan.

Gastroscopy

A gastroscopy is a test that looks at a patient’s gullet or stomach using a long, thin tube called an endoscope.

Flexible sigmoidoscopy

A flexible sigmoidoscopy is an exam that uses a tiny, flexible tube to look inside the rectum and the lower part of the large intestine or colon.

Haemorrhoid banding

This minimally invasive procedure can treat haemorrhoids (piles) that do not respond to home treatments. It is also called rubber band ligation.

Haemorrhoid one-stop clinic

In our one-stop clinic, the team can make a treatment plan for haemorrhoids and help diagnose the underlying cause to prevent them forming again.

Dyspepsia one-stop clinic:

In our one-stop clinic, we can diagnose the root of indigestion causing dyspepsia (abdominal pain) and provide a comprehensive treatment plan.
