Brow Lift London and Essex

At Phoenix Hospital Group, we offer brow lift surgery at our Harley Street and Chelmsford hospitals to rejuvenate the upper face and refresh appearance. Over time, the skin on your forehead can lose elasticity, and your brows may begin to droop, giving your eyes a heavy or tired look.

A brow lift can gently raise the brows and smooth the forehead, opening the eye area and creating a more youthful expression. It’s a subtle, yet effective way to look refreshed and more like yourself again.

What is a brow lift?

A brow lift, sometimes called a forehead lift, is a cosmetic procedure that lifts and repositions the skin and soft tissues of the forehead. The procedure helps smooth lines, reduce frown wrinkles and raise the eyebrows to a more natural, youthful position.

During the procedure, your surgeon may also relax the small muscles between the brows that cause deep lines or furrows, creating a softer, more open appearance around the eyes.

Is a brow lift right for me?

You might choose to have a brow lift if the skin on your forehead has started to sag or your eyebrows have dropped, so your eyes appear tired or heavy. Some people also notice that lines across the forehead or between the eyebrows make them seem older than they feel.

During your consultation, your surgeon will listen to your concerns and discuss what you’d like to achieve. They’ll explain whether a brow lift is your best option and how it could help you look refreshed.

Why choose Phoenix Hospital Group for your brow lift?

How is a brow lift performed?

A brow lift is usually performed under general anaesthesia, and most people stay in hospital overnight. The procedure takes one to two hours. Before your surgery, your consultant will assess your facial structure, skin condition and hairline to decide which technique will achieve the best, most natural result.

Your surgeon will carefully plan the incision positions to keep any scarring as discreet as possible. They typically hide them within the hairline or natural creases of the skin, so you’ll barely notice them once healed.

Your brow lift journey with Phoenix Hospital Group

From your first consultation to your final follow-up, we’ll keep you fully informed, comfortable and supported. Your surgeon will take time to understand your goals and explain what to expect at every stage so that you can feel confident about your treatment.

What happens on the day of my procedure?

When you arrive at one of our hospitals, our friendly team will welcome you and help you settle in. You’ll meet your surgeon and anaesthetist again before your operation to discuss any final details.

Once you’re ready, we’ll take you to the operating room for your procedure. You’ll be under a general anaesthetic throughout, so you’ll be asleep and won’t feel anything.

After your surgery, you’ll rest in our recovery area before we take you to your private room. Most people stay overnight so we can monitor your initial recovery.

Recovering from a brow lift

You must rest for the first few days after surgery, as it’s typical to experience some swelling or bruising around the forehead and eyes. These symptoms usually improve within 1 to 2 weeks, and many people feel ready to return to work or light activities after 10 to 14 days.

Some people notice mild headaches following surgery. We’ll provide suitable pain relief to manage any discomfort. If you suffer from migraines, a brow lift may even help reduce your symptoms.

Your surgeon will remove the stitches around 10 days after surgery and check your healing progress. Scars are usually well hidden within the hairline and fade over the following months. More extensive procedures may take slightly longer to recover from, and your surgeon will discuss this with you at your consultation.

Brow lift FAQs

We understand you may have questions before deciding on surgery. Here are some of the most common questions our patients ask about brow lift procedures, along with clear, reassuring answers.

How much does a brow lift cost?

The cost of a brow lift depends on your needs and the specifics of your procedure. Your surgeon will provide a precise, personalised quote after your consultation, so you know exactly what we include.

At Phoenix Hospital Group, we make treatment as accessible as possible through flexible payment options and transparent pricing.

Are there any risks with a brow lift?

All surgical procedures carry some level of risk, but serious complications are rare. Possible risks can include bruising, swelling, infection, numbness, scarring or temporary changes in sensation around the forehead or scalp.

Your surgeon will discuss these risks in detail before your operation and take every precaution to minimise them.

Our team will also provide full aftercare advice to support your recovery and ensure you feel confident at every stage.

Will I have visible scars after a brow lift?

Your surgeon will make incisions carefully to minimise scarring. They’re usually hidden within the hairline or natural skin creases, and most fade significantly over time.

How long do brow lift results last?

Results can last for many years. While the ageing process continues, most people find that their forehead and eye area look smoother and more refreshed for a long time after surgery.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and protecting your skin from the sun can help your results last even longer.

Can a brow lift be combined with other procedures?

Yes. Many people choose to combine a brow lift with other facial treatments, such as eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or a facelift, for a more balanced and rejuvenated result. Your surgeon will discuss suitable options during your consultation.
