Phoenix Hospital Group is a dynamic, fast growing independent hospital group which currently operates two hospitals in central London and Essex and two Harley Street outpatient and diagnostic centres. It has ambitious plans to grow and is now keen to appoint an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to support the next stage of its development.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Committee, the successful candidate will provide financial leadership and controls across the group including taking responsibility for all financial reporting, budget setting and management as well as participating at a senior level in the development and strategy of the group. The successful candidate is very likely to have previously worked within a healthcare environment and have experience within a strong reporting and performance measurement culture. The job holder will take responsible for all financial functions including billings and collections, treasury and accounts payable.  The successful candidate will be an excellent leader who is able to inspire as well as showing outstanding technical abilities. The job holder will be part of the leadership team building the group for the future.

Key Duties include

  • Present monthly financial board meeting pack to include detailed commentary, KPI and other ad hoc information as requested in a timely manner.
  • Produce the annual financial statements including liaison with auditors
  • Oversee Monthly management reporting, P&L, Balance Sheet, financial and margin analysis
  • Develop a broad set of KPI’s to drive financial performance.
  • Develop systems to obtain operational insight and efficiencies.
  • Oversee all functions such as billings, debt management, accounts payable and treasury initiating best practices and strong financial disciplines.
  • Manage a diverse finance team including mentoring and performance reviews.
  • Produce and analyse accounting information to provide insight and influence potential changes.
  • Manage working capital with a focus on cash flow
  • Manage the financial side of key projects and ensure effective capital expenditure processes including post expenditure audits
  • Manage financial elements of acquisitions, including the integration of new teams, ensuring merger benefits are realised
  • Leadership and development of the Finance team.
  • Maintain internal control safeguards and risk management.
  • Produce and maintain robust budget and forecast information.

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Excellent leader and able to inspire and mentor a team across all areas of finance
  • Experience of operating effectively in a senior finance leadership role
  • Experience of working in the healthcare sector is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional numerical proficiency and technical ability
  • Excellent communication skills with credibility and integrity

Salary: Highly Competitive (dependent on experience)
