Cardiovascular Health

Our cardiovascular health tests can identify and diagnose heart conditions early to safeguard your health. By working with us, you’ll gain access to a wide range of tests that enable early diagnosis and personalised treatment plans to be created.

What is a cardiovascular health check?

A cardiovascular health check assesses the overall condition of your heart. Through a range of different tests, we can spot early warning signs of problematic heart conditions to ensure you receive the treatment you need.

When you choose Phoenix Hospital Group, we’ll provide you with a bespoke cardiology service, complete with tailored advice and management plans. Our state-of-the-art imaging technology also ensures you receive an accurate, comprehensive overview of your cardiovascular health.

Our range of cardiovascular health tests

We offer a range of cardiovascular health tests to ensure we can precisely identify and diagnose any potential heart problem. Our same-day diagnostic imaging provides you with fast, accurate results so you can take the first steps towards management or treatment as soon as possible.

Here are some of the main cardiovascular health tests we provide:

  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) – a simple test that uses special stickers (electrodes) on your skin to detect the electrical impulses of your heart. This painless test assesses your heart rhythm and condition.
  • 24-hour blood pressure monitor – this is used to measure your blood pressure over a 24-hour period.
  • Echocardiogram – a type of ultrasound scan that checks the structure of the chambers and valves of your heart. It can also assess the strength and function of your heart.
  • Exercise stress test – this will involve performing certain exercises while your heart is monitored. Our cardiologists can then check how your heart performs while under stress.
  • Stress echocardiogram – this is used to check the functional performance of your heart while under stress (exercising).
  • CT coronary angiogram – an imaging test carried out in an X-ray machine that creates images of your heart and blood vessels.
  • Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – a non-invasive imaging test that captures images of your heart. An MRI can detect signs of heart problems that other imaging equipment, like X-rays and ultrasounds, may not be able to.
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening – this checks for any abnormalities in your aorta (the main blood vessel that carries blood away from your heart). AAAs must be detected early as they can potentially burst and become life-threatening.
  • Carotid artery scanning – an ultrasound to check your carotid artery (the arteries in your neck that provide blood to your brain).
  • Cardiac and aortic MRI – this is used to evaluate your heart muscle and aorta to rule out or monitor an aortic aneurysm. This can also be used when investigating high blood pressure (hypertension).

By undergoing this wide range of heart screening tests, we can deliver you the peace of mind you need and put you on a management or treatment plan that protects your overall cardiovascular health.

The benefits of a private heart check

A private heart check with Phoenix Hospital Group allows you to prioritise your cardiovascular health. Proactively caring for your heart enhances the early detection of many conditions that, with the right treatment, can be managed effectively.

Regular heart checks also take your personal risk factors into account, such as your age and family history, so you can receive personalised heart care and monitoring when necessary. With regular cardiovascular health checks, any potential heart problems can be identified in their earliest stages, making treatment much more effective.

As well as receiving medical treatment for any detected conditions, you may also be provided with recommended lifestyle changes to help support your heart health for longer and prevent further complications.

Many heart problems have little to no symptoms until they have already caused significant harm to your health. However, with a private heart check, you can feel rest assured that your heart health will be managed and protected.

What can a private heart check detect?

At Phoenix Hospital Group, our cardiovascular checks can detect a range of heart conditions. Through our screenings, we can detect:

  • Heart disease

We can also investigate symptoms such as chest pain to either rule out or confirm conditions like angina.
