Need help in choosing the right surgeon for you? Read our handy “how to” guide on choosing a cosmetic surgeon.

Qualified surgeons are listed on the GMC’s list of Specialist Plastic Surgeons. They may also be members of the professional organisations such as BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) and BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons).

There are many different types of cosmetic surgery, that is why it is important to choose a specialist who has extensive knowledge and experience within their field.

It is always good to have a look around at any reviews or testimonials there are on the surgeon your are choosing, to ensure that you have made the right decision.

Make sure that you meet your surgeon before the procedure so you are able to ask any questions you may have. Your consultation will always be with your chosen surgeon at Weymouth Street Hospital.

Does your surgeon explain your procedure thoroughly? Make sure that any decisions are your own.

Any reputable surgeon will understand that you will have questions about your surgery. Be sure to get all the answers you need before making a decision.

It is important to find out how much the procedure will cost and what is included, so there are no surprise extra costs further down the line. Fixed Price Packages are available for selected procedures at Weymouth Street Hospital.

All cosmetic surgery clinics and hospitals have to be monitored and inspected by the CQC to ensure high standards.

Be sure to ask about the process that happens after your surgery, how long is your recovery likely to take? Do you need a follow up appointment?
