Phoenix Hospital Group is a dynamic, fast growing independent hospital group which currently operates two hospitals in central London and Essex and two Harley Street outpatient and diagnostic centres. It has ambitious plans to grow and is now keen to appoint an exceptional Business Development Director to support the next stage of its development.

The job holder has responsibility for all our sales, business development, communications and engagement programmes across Phoenix Hospital Group. With an ethos emphasising success and quality, the Business Development Director ensures our customers and stakeholders understand what we do and how well we do ensuring our services are accessible and understood using a range of channels including digital.

The job holder leads the sales, business development and marketing teams delivering impeccable patient and customer services and exceptional leadership articulating the Phoenix Hospital Group values and brand. We want an excellent leader who can inspire whilst showing outstanding technical abilities.  An ambassador of the highest quality and credibility, the job holder contributes significantly to the ongoing success of Phoenix Hospital Group.

Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Ensure best in class patient and stakeholder engagement
  • Develop and lead on a range of Business Development initiatives hitting agreed targets as required
  • Deliver a culture of excellence and innovation in all stakeholder and patient engagement
  • Plan, implement and manage marketing and lead campaigns and measure results
  • Manage all digital aspects including PPC, SEO and websites
  • Develop and maintain a consistent corporate image and ensure that the brand is well communicated across all channels
  • Build the profile and reach of Phoenix Hospital Group across UK healthcare and internationally
  • Develop, implement and manage sales forecasting activities, targets, sectors, markets, territories and set performance goals to achieve company objectives
  • Lead the customer contact and fulfilment teams to ensure we delight our customers and deliver against our business plans
  • Review and analyse sales performance against plans to determine effectiveness
  • To regularly review suppliers of digital services, ensuring quality and value for money
  • Direct staff, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programmes
  • Lead on PR initiatives including, if necessary, any crisis management issues
  • Be a member of the Executive leadership team
  • Participate in leading Phoenix Hospital Group at an executive level including representing the Group when necessary

Skills and Experience

  • Bold and creative Sales and Business Development professional with strong focus on target setting and achievement
  • Proven track record hitting sales targets and delivering new business initiatives
  • Strong credibility with Consultants and medical professionals
  • Exceptional communicator
  • Results orientated and focused
  • Experience within private healthcare is essential
  • A degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business administration, advertising or related field is required
  • A proven track record of success in marketing and communications
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and application of a wide range of marketing and sales techniques and concepts
  • Enthusiastic and creative
  • Strategic planning skills
