Phoenix Hospital Group (PHG) is a small, dynamic, fast growing independent private hospital group, centred in the Harley Street District, consisting of Weymouth Street Hospital and two outpatient and diagnostic centres located on Harley Street. Phoenix Hospital Chelmsford is also part of the group. All sites have ambitious plans for growth.

We are looking for a Business Development Assistant to join our team, to increase patient footfall into our London campus. You will be a highly driven individual, a people person, who excels at building strong business relationships. You’ll have a strong business acumen, good at analysis and be highly motivated by getting and reporting on results. You might already have experience working in a healthcare environment or a degree in a clinical or biological subject and will be able to apply your knowledge to excel in this role.

The Business Development Assistant will lead on activities that will drive more patients into the hospital and increase revenue.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support in setting up new services and patient pathways that will increase revenue for Phoenix Hospital Group
  • Build relationships with internal/external local GPs, raising their awareness of PHG services/consultants to increase clinician referrals
  • Support in managing relationships with existing corporate partnerships and actively seek new partnership opportunities with local businesses that will drive new business to the hospital
  • Build relationships with consultants/clinicians, connecting them to each other and making them aware of relevant services, to increase in-house and cross referrals within PHG
  • Support with the onboarding of new consultants, by fully understanding their sub-specialty and supporting them with initiatives that will increase their practice growth
  • Gather and create unique, engaging & relevant content/literature (e.g. webpage copy, blogs) to support the marketing team in promoting new services
  • Provide support in managing website content for PHG specific webpages to ensure consultant profiles and hospital services are kept up-to-date
  • Produce reports that will monitor PHG business development activity and success
  • Act as an ambassador for service excellence, consistently setting an example to PHG colleagues across all types of communication
  • To undertake such other duties commensurate with the position as directed by the Business Development Director or Executive Committee

Skills and Experience

  • Educated to degree level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Excellent organisational & prioritisation skills with the ability to work on multiple projects
  • ‘Can do’ attitude and willingness to learn, with a positive and flexible attitude to get the job done
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Ability to produce reports that monitors business performance
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the business
  • Understanding of Wordpress & digital marketing desirable
  • Microsoft Office skills essential (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
